Thank
you Temecula Valley International Film Festival for bestowing
the Special Jury Award upon Last of the Spanish Mustangs.
This is a festival known for strong films and great documentaries
and we are honored to receive this award!
So many people have asked about what it was like being
around wild horses and where to find them that I thought
I'd offer a second dvd of just wild horses in the wild.
This is footage primarily of two herds — the Cerbats
in Arizona and the McCulloughs in Wyoming. They are both
Spanish herds and each are interesting to watch. I tell
about what it was like to find them and give thoughts
on wild horses most people never see. Click
here to order the DVD.
And an honor to have television rights signed by Solid
Entertainment,
now offering the 52-minute version for American and foreign
distribution. Check out the new releases at www.SolidEntertainment.com.
Richard Propper, who heads the company, started out by
selling a package of
shows to the Discovery Channel in the mid-90s and hasn't
looked back since. Richard is a former head of the International
Documentary Association.
The documentary
won the AP award for best documentary after getting high
ratings as a tv special on KPHO TV, the CBS in Phoenix. "An
excellent piece of work and we're proud to air it." --Steven
Hammel, general manager, CBS 5.
When asked
by Contact Magazine what his favorite films of the 2006
Phoenix Film Festival were, the first words out of the
festival director's mouth were "the documentary
Last of the Spanish Mustangs." Click

Also, the mustangs were in the
festival's main competition category and screened in
premium slots throughout the weekend. I served on documentary
panels and while I've enjoyed every festival I've attended,
Phoenix was special. The people there were fantastic.
